A critical examination of the neurobiological mechanisms of mental illness. Current biobehavioral perspectives of potential causes and treatments of psychological disorders such as schizophrenia, eating disorders, drug abuse, depression, and obsessivecompulsive disorder are considered. An emphasis is placed on the interaction of nature and nurture (e.g. stress) contributing to both
vulnerability and resilience to mental illness.

Prerequisites
