Through a direct engagement with Jewish and Christian sacred texts as historical sources, students will examine how people across time and within a range of diverse cultural contexts have used the Bible to make meaning and value in their world. By focusing on a theme or topic, these courses will place the Bible, along with how it has been read and interpreted, within historical contexts. This course counts toward the History major or minor.
