AFS 225 Black Women Writers

4

This course is an exploration of writings by Black women in the context of the rise of Black feminism, primarily in the U.S. Our focus will be on how these writers engage with intersectional notions of race, gender, sexuality and other constructed identities in their historical time periods. Finally, we will attend to how the writers influence and anticipate each other and form a writing community.
