Students will spend 3 weeks at a host research site in Kenya. In the morning, immersive language and cultural training would be provided by Peace Corps Kenya Language and Culture facilitators. In the afternoon students will work with scientists at the research site on a project similar to a typical summer undergraduate research experience. On the first week, students will be reading paper with their host and learning basic craft. On the second week they will collect data, and on the third week analyze this data for a summary poster presentation on the Thursday of their last week. On the weekends, the students will visit cultural events, other conservation programs and parks.
