CHEM 315 Biochemistry

Spring, Fall
4

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the structure, function, detection, and regulation of key classes of biomolecules. Students will delve into essential concepts related to acids and bases, equilibria, proteins, enzymes, carbohydrates, lipids, membranes, and metabolism. A significant emphasis will be placed on understanding the relationships between protein structure and function, the regulation of critical metabolic pathways, and the differences in metabolic processes between muscle and liver tissues. Additionally, kinetics and bioenergetics will be explored to provide a thorough understanding of how metabolic pathways are influenced.
