PSYC 306 Psycholinguistics

This course provides a comprehensive overview of how language is acquired, represented, and processed in the mind and brain. Taking a scientific perspective, the course focuses on theories about and research on human language. Some topics include children’s language acquisition, speech perception and comprehension, reading, language production, bilingualism, sign language, language processing in the brain, age-related changes in language, and language disorders.

Prerequisite:  PSYC 200 or PSYC 211
