Is economics a "dismal" science? This course is a survey on how humans have viewed economic questions since Ancient Greece. Topics covered include the morality of private property, the justice of prices and interest, and the emergence of the case for free trade. The course follows these questions as Economics separates from moral philosophy to become a mathematical science, examining its impacts on society along the way.
Prerequisites: ECON 100

ECON 201 or ECON 202
