This course covers the standards and pedagogical methods associated with teaching English language arts and social studies (history and government) in US 6-12 education. Students will learn about and analyze the professional standards and curriculum used in their field, the best practices for teaching and assessing 6-12 students' content knowledge of and practices in their field, as well as how to support the language demands of the field. Students will apply this knowledge and critical insight in culturally relevant ways while fostering open discussion and integrating technology.
