INTD 175 Body Awareness and Kinesthetic Movement


This course is designed to survey the general techniques of body awareness, efficiency of
movement and breathe control as found within methodologies such as Alexander Technique, the
Feldenkrais Method and Yoga, but open to incorporate other current trends as is pertinent.
The primary focus of this course is to guide students through samples of methods to increase
their own kinesthetic awareness. The methodologies listed have been used by high level athletes
and performers as preventative measures against injury, restorative measures of physical and
mental recovery as well as developing physical control for mental toughness.
