This 1-credit course is designed to introduce students to foundational leadership principles and character development. Through a combination of practical skill-building and insightful discussions with expert guest speakers, students will explore how leadership extends beyond the classroom and into diverse real-world contexts.
Key components of the course will focus on personal and professional development, including resume building, interview skills, grant proposal development, and effective communication skills. Additionally, students will be introduced to grant and abstract writing, providing a foundation for future academic and professional opportunities. Guest speakers from the college community and beyond will provide their professional guidance on leadership across different disciplines.
