This course introduces the study of comparative politics around the world, exploring why countries differ in governance, democracy, and political stability. Students examine core concepts and theories in comparative politics, using real-world case studies to understand how governments function, how people participate in politics, and how political, social, and economic actors interact. Topics include democratization, authoritarianism, civil conflict, and the factors shaping economic and social outcomes. By combining theory with practice, the course develops critical thinking, analytical skills, and a global perspective on the forces that shape everyday political life.
