This course examines the history and lived experience of the three monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in the Middle East. It will draw both on the scriptural texts of these traditions and their contemporary challenges, both from the perspective of the tumultuous political landscape of the Middle East and the intersecting ethnic, cultural, and religious identities of the people living in it.
