An intensive reading course examining works of Latin literature pertinent to the study of the topography of Rome. Selections will come
from Roman historians, poets, orators, and inscriptions. Class meetings will take place in the city of Rome. Students will visit and
analyze sites described in the primary literature; inscriptions review in situ where possible, and study the textual tradition through
available manuscripts.
