PHIL 229 Ethics Bowl Practicum

2

This practicum prepares students for Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl competitions. Students will develop written and oral arguments based on cases from the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, used in both regional and national competitions. Through this course, students will critically evaluate applied ethics cases, formulate defensible arguments, and practice public speaking, active listening, and responding thoughtfully to judges’ questions. Practicum participants are eligible to compete on the Rhodes College Ethics Bowl team in APPE’s Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl.

Students can earn F11 credit by taking PHIL 228 and 229 (once each) or by completing two semesters of PHIL 229.
