This course is designed to provide the non-science major with a clear and logical understanding of the basic principles and methodology of physics. Through hands-on, inquiry-driven labs, students will develop a qualitative understanding of various foundational concepts of mechanics and energy. Students will extend this knowledge through quantitative graphical analysis of data. Finally, students will apply this understanding of scientific methodology by learning to assess technical discussions in media and public policy based on the merit of the scientific practices employed.
