This course is designed to provide students with the experience of examining a series of laws, and the case law interpreting them, enacted to combat discrimination in employment in the United States using a format similar to a law school class environment. Students will learn the basics of the federal legal system, how to read and interpret case law, and acquire more in-depth knowledge of what “discrimination” means from a legal perspective. Students will become familiar with the basic mechanism by which employment cases are litigated and the application of this mechanism to different forms of discrimination claims.
Students who have completed PLAW 283: Anti-Discrimination Law are not eligible to enroll in this class.
