THEA 290 Applied Performance

In these 1-credit courses, students will develop knowledge, methodologies, skills, and techniques of theatre through hands-on participation in departmental productions and other public events presented as part of the McCoy season. Students will engage in the act of collaborative creation, developing their imagination and their capacity for expression. Students will use the practices, tools, and technologies fundamental to theatrical production in creative, safe, and efficient ways. In a variety of different disciplines, students will work to understand the technical aspects of their craft and work with matter, space, and time in order to create theatrical performance. Each course is specific to the preparation and execution of one aspect of theatre; students gain experience in that area of applied credit.
