Contemporary German Media and Film - This course will explore the 20th and 21st century Germany through the lens of its national cinema, focusing on the historical study of German cinema from the very earliest feature films all the way up to the present. We will also look at contemporary German life through news broadcasts, articles from the German press, and other media forms, gaining further proficiency in speaking and listening comprehension, as well as reading and writing skills. The language of instruction is German, corresponding to standard proficiency guidelines for “intermediate high-advanced low" (B1.2) language learners.
